How to delete PDF pages

1. Open the PDF and wait for the page thumbnails.
2. Tap each page you want to remove, or type the pages as ranges, such as 2, 7-9.
3. Check the marked pages.
4. Download the PDF without them.

Common reasons to remove pages

• Blank pages from double-sided scanning.
• A page scanned twice.
• The terms and conditions pages at the end of a statement that nobody asked for.
• Pages with information the other person does not need to see, such as other accounts on a bank statement or other people's details on a group booking.

That last one is a good reason to do this on your own device. When you are trimming a payslip or bank statement before sending it to a landlord, the full document is exactly what you do not want sitting on a stranger's server. Here the file is handled in your browser only.

Typing pages to delete

For long documents, typing is faster than tapping. Page numbers count from the first page of the file:

• 2 removes page 2.
• 7-9 removes pages 7, 8 and 9.
• 1, 12-14 removes page 1 and pages 12 to 14.

Marked pages are highlighted on the thumbnails, so you can see what will go before you download.

Delete pages or split the PDF?

Delete when you want to keep most of a document and lose a few pages. Split when you want to keep only a few pages, or turn one PDF into several files. On a 20-page file where you need page 6 only, splitting out page 6 is one entry. Deleting would mean marking the other 19.

Deleting a page removes it from the new file. It does not black out part of a page. If you need to hide a line on a page you are keeping, that needs a redaction tool.
